Happy Summer

Purpose

Happy Summer camp is a time away from family, time well spent recouping and rejuvenating from the year long stress the children have endured. Time used to undergo digital detox and augment the fitness of the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, creative progress look forward to brighter future.

What better way than to spend time in a loving and caring environment at Happy Summer,

where hearts beam with joy and minds expand their consciousness!

Checklist: Below list will help your child’s stay more comfortable.

Clothes:

o   Bring 10–12 pairs of basic home summer wear for your 10-day camp stay.

o   1 pair of simple yet slightly fanciful clothes (party wear for group photo)

o   Please pack 2 yoga track suits

o   2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 5 hand kerchiefs.

o   10-12 inner wear sufficient for 10 days of stay

o   1 bed sheet and blanket

o   1 bag (plastic) to pack the dirty laundry as washing facility is not available.

o   2-3 pairs of night wear.

Footwear:

o   1 pair of bathroom slippers

o   1 pair of simple sports shoes and 2pairs of socks.

Summer Accessories:

o   Hat/ Cap

o   Water bottle

o   Mosquito repellent cream

Toiletries:

o   Bathing soap

o   Hand sanitizer (small size)

o   Small size washing soap (optional)

o   Shampoo

o   Hair oil

o   Comb

o   Toothbrush and tongue cleaner

o   Toothpaste (small size is fine)

o   Tongue Cleaner

o   Nail cutter.

o   Hair clips/ bands/ ribbons (for girls where needed)

Bringing perfumes, deodorants, is not encouraged and instead advised for regular bath every day. Lipsticks, eyeliners, mascara and any type of make-up items are not allowed on the camp.

Journaling:

o   A small diary

o   Pen/ pencil-eraser-sharpener

o   Colour pencils

o   Colour pens – 12 colours.

o   A book of your choice (to read under the trees or in the park is a blessing. Carry one or two and write your name on it)

o   L folder (to keep your artwork)

o   Old Newspaper (1-2 sheets) (optional)

Personal wallet:

o   Personal wallet may carry:

o   Small hand written card with Child’s name, parents name and contact details

o   No cash in any currency is strictly banned on the camp. Any essential purchases will be decided at the time accordingly by the organisers.

Medicines:

o   Please pack your medicines day-wise (where applicable).

o   The child is medically fit to join the camp

Needle and Thread work items:

o   For children above 10yrs only will be engaged in basic needle and thread work

o   Pls bring along: a small box or pouch that contains a small needle and one color thread roll, few buttons, hooks and a small hand kerchief-size cloth.

o   The needle should be inside a small box, so it is secured safe.

Exemplary students:

Happy Summer Camp will always consider the following behaviors as exemplary to the camp.

o   Those students who understand the purpose of the summer camp and behave in alignment with it.

o   Those who participate wholeheartedly in all the activities being offered and spread joy with the fellow campers.

o   Students with sincerity and authenticity at their core and demonstrating a proactive approach in the classroom and dormitories.

Certain rules must be adhered to so that everyone makes relishing memories of the camp:

Phone calls/ Messages:

o   Mobile phones and wrist phones are prohibited from being worn or carried by the students.

o   Parents and students are requested and guided to follow the mobile phone access regulations. Phone call to the parents will happen on the third day of the camp. For example: the child reports on 3rd June, phone call day is on 6th june evening only.

o   Subsequent phone calls are made only if the child feels the need to talk to the parent on the third day from the previous phone call.

o   Any call to the parent should not exceed 3mins.

o   Requesting to call multiple family members is not allowed.

o   Parents cannot call the management, trainers, wardens or facilitators unless there is an emergency.

o   Parents can however drop a message or WhatsApp to the organizers only; and they will respond appropriately.

o   Requests to send photos or videos of individual child will not be entertained.

Parent Student Caution:

o   Parents enrolling their wards into the camp need to prepare their wards mentally, emotionally and physically before enrolling in the camp.

o   Parents cannot come to the training rooms or the dormitories or playgrounds or dining halls.

o   Any meeting with the student must be approved by the organizers via WhatsApp only. Under such conditions, the child will be brought to the parent at a certain time and location as decided by the organizers. This is to protect the remaining children who feel homesick when other parents come to their view.

o   In case the child is homesick for beyond 3days, then organizers will invite the parents to keep the student with them in night at their own cost and bring the child for the classes in the morning.

Belongings and Behavior etiquette:

o   Mobile phones, cameras, movie magazines are not allowed. If found, they will be confiscated until the end of the camp.

o   Campers are expected to demonstrate a helpful, kind, and cooperative and enthusiastic demeanor during their stay at Happy Summer Camp.

o   Students are expected to maintain excellent personal hygiene and bathroom hygiene.

o   Please send your children with proper hair cut (for boys particularly), nails closely clipped and devoid of any personal jewellry.

o   All students must have healthy scalps (no hair lice).

o   Campers must take bath at least once a day and maintain healthy bowel movements.

o   Students of all age groups are always expected to pay respect to each other and those of opposite gender, in all group activities and play areas and dining areas.

o   Children of opposite gender are not allowed to indulge in one-to-one talk unless instructed by the trainers and facilitators. For example: Boy talking to girl or vice versa.

Expulsion from the camp:

o   Unruly behavior, especially inside the dormitories, bath areas or use of uncivilized language will invite immediate expulsion from the camp.

o   Bullying or eve teasing or taking part in activities that disturb the dignity of fellow students of the camp will result in immediate expulsion from the camp.

o   Students participating in vandalism or theft, or such activities will be identified and expelled immediately.

o   Students must abide the schedule given by the wardens especially the sleeping and waking up time. Not adhering to the night sleep time and engaging in activities like chit-chatting, gossiping, running, and screaming in the dormitory, name calling, grouping up and such will invite expulsion from the summer camp.

o   Students indulging in passing comments on facilitators or trainers or displaying

o   disrespectful behaviour towards facilitators or trainers will be least tolerated and such students will be sent home immediately.

o   There is zero tolerance for  body shaming fellow students or trainers or facilitators or any of the members of the camp, or society around.

o   Students visiting the department store without permission of the coordinator will be subject to expulsion.

o   Parents and students requesting facilitators to purchase packaged food items from the department store will not tolerated.

Nourishment:

o   Children are given wholesome, nourishing vegetarian food. Therefore, please don't pack any packaged snacks (chips and chocolates, wafers, muruku etc.) for the children. Such packaged food also interferes with the cognitive development of the child and therefore if found it will be confiscated.

o   Parents and students carrying outside food is strictly prohibited.

o   All the meals are well planned by the nutritionist considering the season and age group of the children.

o   Children are expected to show respect for food, consume their meals with appreciation, and observe silence in the dining hall.

o   Children are encouraged to take limited quantities of all items on the counter and ensure they consume all of food items on their plate, minimizing the food waste.

Alpha Kits:

o   The participants of Alpha will receive the Alpha kits. Once given, the kits belong entirely to the participants. They must ensure they stay safe, particularly the blindfold and color balls in case of Alpha course students.

o   Students of Champions Program will receive a short warmup training in Alpha. They will not be given the Alpha kit.

Refund Policy:

1.     Expelled students are not eligible for refund of the fee.

2.     Student requests for transfers between the batches will invite for 30% extra fee and the request can be honored only upon availability of vacancies.

3.     Students withdrawing from the camp 30days before the start date of the camp need to raise a refund claim and will be refunded their fee only after deducting the processing fee. The fee will be transferred to the account only after minimum two weeks.

4.     Refund claims less than 30 days from the start date of the batch will not be entertained.

5.     No refund claims will be entertained after the end of the camp.

Medical Expenses Policy:

1.     All medical expenses during the camp must be borne by the parents only.

2.     All medical expenses incurred because of falls, injuries and illnesses during the camp must be borne by the parents only.

Photo/Video Policy:

I give my consent for photos and videos to be taken during the camp activities and the same can be used on website and other social media platforms for promotion.
